Danze Fairmont Bathroom Faucet Oil Rubbed Bronze D308140RB Can I mount this faucet without the bottom attached bar?

This faucet is all one piece so you can't separate it from the bottom attached bar; however, you can get this same faucet in the mini-widespread (D30824ORB) which fits a 4" to 12" center.
